I've been wanting to buy the half jackets for quiet sometime but I'm not sure if they would be appropriate for work. What do guys think? If the jackets are not appropriate, which one in the oakleys line are?

Looking forward to your replies folks

Thank you

I think it all depends on your personal style, what you do and the culture of the office where you work...

That being said, I think the conventional wisdom would be that Oakleys are a little played out now anyway..."Hello, the 90's are calling and they'd like their sunglasses back"... it's one thing if you're a fairly serious biker or in-line skater but otherwise, aviators and bigger sunglasses have made more of a comeback lately.

Oakleys are de facto part of the Canadian 20-somethings businessman's outfit. Along with stripey shirts, black suits, chunky rubber sole shoes. They look absurd; and while I generally don't care for the sunglass/suit look, there are better options out there. I don't even like Oakleys for casual wear. Keep them for physical activities - that's what they were designed for.

I save the sport glasses for sports. I wear Persol and other dress glasses for business wear.

oakleys are fine at work....

Assuming your job involves climbing the face of an artificial rock in spandex with those funny slippers.

I'm still trying to comprehend this. Why on earth would it matter in the office what sunglasses you wore? Presumably, you'd wear them in the car and/or the walk to the door, then remove them. If you're wearing sunglasses indoors then it doesn't matter if they're Oakleys, it doesn't matter if Hermes made them for you bespoke, you will look stupid.

I don't know about you but I wouldn't wear the sunglasses in the office in the first place. And what people wear now anyway I think this would be a very minute detail. What, are they going to fire you for wearing Oakleys? How do you sit with that stick up your ass hole?

Maybe they're not going to fire you, but the way that you are perceived in the workplace is pretty important. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want to be perceived as some tool who's re-living the 90s glory days or thinks he's still an 18 year old kid on some beach somewhere while he's at work.

It's nice to have the luxury to accuse people that actually go out and work hard every day to get ahead in a dog-eat-dog world of having a stick up their ass. But, I would suggest that you let people know where you are coming from when giving advice on what they should do at work in an office environment.

Oakleys. Very out-dated.

Why is someone trying to debate this?
