Whenever I look at the Levis in Kohl's or Macy's, I can't help but notice that the 501s always seem to come in the shittiest washes. I guess they figure that the 501 cut means dad jeans.

all i wear are 501's. low rise on jeans or any other pants for that matter just don't flatter me as I am fairly muscular.

the status quo on this forum is for slimmer cuts with lower rises... but the question posted is a little absurd. were guys like james dean, marlon brando, elvis presley and every other iconic figure that wore jeans look uncool? i dont think so. and what did those guys wear?

501's.

The ones I have seen in Macy's around LA seem to come in about 5-6 colors: out of those, I'd say only 2 or 3 colors are gross - the mom-jean stone-wash color and lighter, faded versions. The darker ones are ok to me, unless there is some fake-fade/ripping shenanigans going on.

They have the STFs too, indigo and black.

The regular indigo STFs have this really deep electric blue color which I think is hideous. No one besides me seems to care that much about the color, though.

Just about everyone I know has a pair of Levi 501 in their rotation. Although I prefer the 505 fit to the 501.

I thought 505 was 501 fit just with a zipper?

I dont think so. Seems like my 501 are longer and the 505 fit a little tighter.

I'm pretty sure there's a grey area between D&G models and Chris Farley.

Sold my LVC 1947's because of the hideous electric blue color and unflattering fit. I'm sure they look great on some handsome people though.
