I understand the problem of wearing trousers that are to close in color to a jacket. But do jeans get an exception? I have seen pictures on here and elsewhere where a navy jacket paired with dark denim looks acceptable and possibly even stylish. But after having absorbed this forum's knowledge, I am now hesitant of wearing dark jeans with a navy jack for fear of coming off as a rube who is trying to wear a suit. I have a dark blue (navy) feather suede Lanvin jacket I just thrifted and would like to make it my going out to drinks jacket. Problem is I usually like wearing dark jeans for such outings. The wash on my dark 501's is very similar to the blue of the jacket. I think I prefer the look of jeans that have been in the wash dozens of time now, which I usually don't like, only because I prefer some contrast. I am curious as to what other people think about this.
