Are HUGO BOSS’ 2024 Winter line feature fused overcoats?

I’m currently eyeing this Slim-Fit Overcoat made of Cashmere and Wool, I couldn’t imagine that they would skimp on not canvassing this overcoat, because of the material used but for anyone has bought from them recently. I need some advice.
An elegant formal coat by BOSS. Crafted in virgin wool blended with luxurious cashmere, this fully lined piece is tailored to a streamlined fit.

I bought a lot of Boss early in my clothing journey. This information is a couple of years old, and only reflects my personal experience:

They would absolutely skimp on the canvasing, because most of their buyers don't know what canvasing is. They may pay for some cashmere because the WORD cashmere sells, but you can't assume it will be GOOD cashmere. Low grade cashmere is still cashmere, and "luxurious" essentially just means "expensive". If you take the equivalent of beard stubble from a cashmere goat, that's still cashmere. For reference, one of the pieces I had was a wool-cashmere blend coat. It started going threadbare in a couple of years.

This is not a Boss-specific thing. Most high-street stores and fashion brands will skimp on material and construction, because they would rather spend the money on marketing and prime real-estate rent. Their business model works better if things don't last too long.

I fitted this overcoat and it fits me absolutely flawlessly, still do you think I should skip it when it would cost me 549 euros? I have a Cold War kersey wool peacoat that runs a bit big on the sleeve size but fits me perfectly everywhere else.

It depends. If you accept that the materials won't be as good as you originally thought, and the make will be average, can you get something that fits you as well for the same/less money? If yes, buy the cheaper option. If no, it might not be a bad buy.

Boss can make things that look nice, if you like the style. There's a reason I use to buy their stuff. If you love the look and can afford the coat, there are worse ways to spend your money (disclaimer: I have spent my money in WAY worse ways). Just be aware that you're not paying for quality materials or well made garments: you're buying decent design and a mid-tier fashion brand name. I don't think that's anything to be ashamed of, as long as you're making an informed choice.

Do you think that the coat will bubble(fused) over time and what is your estimate for the life expectancy when I wear it throughout several years with frequency?

I don't feel knowledgable enough to answer that. I've had one coat from Boss (a wool-cashmere blend): the fabric started showing wear after a couple of years, but that was of very heavy wear. If you're less rough on it, I'm sure you could get 4-5 years of wear out of it. As for bubbling, I think it depends a bit on how often you have to clean it: I'm sure someone more knowledgable will be able to correct me about that if I'm wrong.

One of the first "quality" (or so I though) clothes items I bought, years back when I started trying to dress "grown up" was a pair of Hugo Boss shoes. They looked amazing in the shop when they were new - like really sleek, and sexy, and I got loads of compliments (particularly from women, who look at men's shoes much more often than men do) when I wore them. However within a year they had totally lost their lustre, despite me caring for them adequately well, in terms of polishing/storage/rotation etc. And the sole was coming away from the upper where the glue holding them all together was failing. Then I started reading Style Forum and quality men's clothing blogs like Permanent Style and Die Workwear, and learned the important difference between designer fashion brands and real quality workmanship.

But yeah, they did look great to start with, and I got a lot of compliments (from people who don't really know about quality men's shoes but like things that look sleek and shiny, i.e normie women), far more than I ever have done wearing the objectively much better quality but perhaps less "sexy" footwear that I do now - Crockett And Jones/Loakes etc. So I guess it depends what you're after.
