Are gold-colored pins in fedora ribbons tacky or not?

I buy fedoras from Biltmore. In years past I would wear them without the little gold-colored pin which says "Biltmore"that goes in the ribbon and also I'd wear it without the peacock feathers it comes with.

Now they come with jaguar pins or something instead of logo/brandname pins. I tried asking the hatter what the signifigance of the jaguar symbol in a pin was, but he didn't really know. Do any of you know?

Anyhow, I am thinking to wear a fedora this year with the peacock feathers in and also one of those pins in, mainly because in years past I've often been mistaken by random lay people on the steet who don't know anything about hats for being a Jew; then they came and striked up conversations with me about being a Jew. They did this because they thought my fedora was a Jewish religious hat.

I figure that with the peacock feathers and a pin in it, they might not make that mistake any more.

However, I don't wanna wear the pin if it's tacky, like say a logo on a shirt would be.

What's the deal with that...is wearing a pin in a fedora ribbon just as tacky as logo on a shirt, somewhat tacky, or not tacky at all?

Oh darn. The hatter did mention he had lots of the old Biltmore pins laying around because he said 'people didn't want them'. I guess they didn't want them because they are tacky.

What about peacock feathers? Is that tacky too? That's traditional though isn't it, so it should be non-tacky for that reason shouldn't it?
