Are braces/suspenders dated?

I've always appreciated braces, but am not sure if they're conservative enough for the 21st century corporate workplace. I know that suspenders were de rigueur in the mid-late 1980s and early 1990s. I like to be well dressed without seeming antiquated and/or corny. Thoughts?

To me it feels they have been on a slow rise again, fashion wise. Though honestly, they are a timeless instrument with practical use, I went from mainly belts to suspenders, never looked back as I find suspenders much more comfortable. Just please use suspenders with button attachment, avoid clip attachement like the plague. If you really fear being too flamboyant, then try sticking to just navy and adjustment clips in matte, rather than flashy metal, and just keep them covered. In winter you can wear a cardigan over them so they never show.

They’re still far and away the best way to hold your pants up. So who cares.

I really hate how belts look with suits and sportcoats on my body, so unless I’m wearing pents with daks or decent side adjusters, it’s suspenders for me.

That, and when it’s time to leave for the day I get to *slap* them out and say “time to hit the dusty trail” like the parody of a human being that I am.
