Are Bally shoes high-quality again?

Has anyone notice Bally going back to producing quality Blake-stitched shoes again?

I know the conventional wisdom here about everything from Bally being crap except for Scribe which is Goodyear welted. But I was at a store recently and browsing their shoe collection of AE's, Alden's, Canali's, etc. and noticed they had quite a few Bally's. I looked at the Bally's expecting to see some cheap glued stuff but was pleasantly surprised that the most of the shoes in their regular collection appeared to be blake stitched.

I asked a sales associate, who seemed quite knowledgeable, and he told me that they started carrying Bally because they switched to a new supplier in the last few months who was producing quality shoes that could compete with their other offerings.

I think this must be a very recent development, because I was in a Bally store in July and was unimpressed with their offerings. Has anyone else noticed this revival in quality?

I can't comment on any revival, but it would be nice to see Bally getting better.

I have both Scribe and regular line Bally shoe, from 10 years ago.

I saw a dark brown, Blake-stitched penny loafer at the Bally store in Phipps. It was made in Switzerland, had a split-toe and was marked down from $450 to $160. I am not familiar with Swiss-made shoes, which is why I am hesitating.

I wonder how the Swiss-made ones compare with RL or EG, etc.
