Hi, I recently ordered some SF-01v3 in grey suede with white soles. These are my fourth or fifth pair of trainers from Archibald. They were listed as in stock.

They arrived and all seemed fine. I tried them on indoors for a couple of hours, sprayed them with protector and wore them outside for a few errands.

When coming back and taking them off, I saw them next to my white pair and thought they looked a tiny bit different shaped.

On closer inspection, they are SF-01 v2s. It is written on the inside tongue (along with manufacture date of July 2021) and the box.

I didn’t get them from the sample or discontinued section of the website, I definitely ordered v3s. Am I being a bit stroppy to think this is a bit cheeky, especially given their previous issues with products not matching the description?

The other thing, these have sat in a box on a shelf since they retailed at £150, then are sold to me four years later for £200, exactly the same as a fresh pair of v3s would have cost me.

I have tried to get in touch with them before coming on here for a moan, but they haven’t got back to me 5 days later.
If you haven't already, try contacting on WhatsApp. It's listed amongst the contact info.
I've had conversations with them there. And yeah, I wouldn't settle for what you were sent.

So Roh has been in touch to explain they are in fact v3s. The new maker began in July 2021, which was earlier than I thought but makes sense as the handwelted issue was March 2021. Apparently the new maker continued to label the first batch they made as v2 as they didn’t know what that signified.

To confirm this I can see the footbed is real leather which was one of the main updates in the v3.

Happy to correct the record and thanks for the response from Roh

Does it mean that the “no middleman” model is like equality in the Animal Farm?

Some middle agent is needed for business operation in the real world, perhaps.

What's up with these guys? I ordered something that was supposedly in stock and ready to ship on Black Friday. Still no tracking. Emailed them. Generic response about looking into it.

Also the sizing is really weird on their chart. I wear a 12uk in most dress shoes and 12 or 13 US in nikes or tennis shoes. Their chart says to order a 44. I've never ordered or worn less than a 46 of anything.

I ordered a 45 as a compromise but what are their returns/exchange experiences like if it doesn't work out? With the shipping delay I'm almost tempted to just give up and ask them to cancel.

By the way the item on the website says "ships from the United States" and even promises a delivery date... long since passed.

I'd never make excuses for their effed up delivery issues, it's egregious. But I can help with sizing.
I own many pairs of their sneakers.
I'm a rock solid 8/41 in almost every shoe. In Archibald, I'm a 40.

Someone from the company contacted me and said there will be a tracking number and shipping later today. Will keep everyone posted when I get the shoes.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
