If you're in the South of England you might want to get to the Aquascutum outlet at Swindon Designer Outlet - an easy burn up the motorway from the East or West. I was in the Wiltshire area and cose enough to the outlet so give it a whirl for the heck of it. Anyways, I've been wanting an Aquascutum Fairmount raincoat for ages - looking at eBay mostly as they never seem to be on sale in department stores and fancy menswear shops. When I was last at that Outlet ages ago they were going, IIRC, £299, down from the usual £450 department store RRP. Well today there were several with £225 on the printed tag with £175 or £125 scrawled in in pen depending on colour (none in black, but beige, cream and olivey green) - and plenty in 36". I lke the clean-ness of the cream, which was £125. BUT, the whole outlet was having a 30% off everything today so I got my £450 Fairmount for £87.50. Thinking about it, I should have got some more for trade if I was more of a wheeler dealer, or just bought all three colours but I'm okay for coats for the foreseeable future. Still, if anyone else is out there get there if that's your thing... http://www.swindondesigneroutlet.com/consumer.asp Also picked up Charles Tywitt slim-fit shirt for £17.50, Polo casual shrt for £14.75, Levis 501s for 30something quid (Levis were doing a 25% sale), some socks and could have bought loads of other stuff but ran out of time wondering whether to get more Aquascutum and I'm not one for loading up on stuff I really don't need at the time!. The burberry shop was having a closing down sale.

I missed out on one of the black double breasted trenches - down from £450 to £150, with a 30% off on top making it £105. I'd checked it out on the weekend, ummed and ahhed, decided I'd take it a couple of days later, and it had gone. It was a 36, but surprisingly fit me over a jacket. I've been searching e-bay ever since.

Got a nice burgandy tie for £7, marked down from £59 as consolation.

Aquascutum does seem one of the few outlets to offer a genuine markdown in that shopping centre.

Yes, I was amazed to see that the double-breasted trenchcoat in green in a 34" (didn't know they did 34" as I've never seen one before online or off) and even that was quite big. The Fairmount is cut much slimmer and I wanted something more casual for knocking about in spring but even that's roomy enough that it could suit a slim 38" if they only ever wore a jumper and shirt underneath. Definitely err on the side of smaller if getting a British friend to pick something up for you.

I suppose you couldn't buy a bunch and sell them on the forum. I would be interested in buying one in a size 38 or 36.
