APC NS Taper question

Sorry if this has been covered (I have read every page of the Sizing Thread, so if I missed it, its not for lack of searching) but where does the New Standard begin to taper? I don't like too much taper, as it makes me feel my thighs are fat, which makes me feel like a girl for having such a thought, and I don't wanna go down that road. So I figured maybe the Rescue was the way to go, but when I tried it on yesterday in NY, I disliked how high the rise was. I liked the NS's waist more. Because I have just barely a 30 inch inseam (with proper trousers, I usually take 29, but I go with 30 for jeans), could I get a pair of NS hemmed up maybe 5 or 6 inches and end up with, essentially, a slightly slimmer Rescue with a slightly lower rise?
Thanks experts

Put this on the APC Sizing thread.
I really doubt the NS is tapered enough for one to notice.

If you hem it up 5 or 6", you won't have a problem with the taper. You can also not size down as much as some people here do, which will mean a bit more room throughout.
