I recently bought a pair of APC New Cure jeans and I love them. I bought these because I wanted raw denim that I could then work in as my own. I plan on wearing them everyday for about two months before I wash them so they can develop plenty of fading in the right places. My question is whether this is a long enough wait before washing to get the desired effects? I walk about 3 miles a day in them to and from class. Any experience you've had you could leave me with would be much appreciated!

The longer you wear them before washing the greater the contrast in fades. From what I've seen/read most people wait around six months before the first wash, but just wash them whenever they start to get smelly or whenever you feel like it.

wear for 2 years then wash in the holy water of the nearest church, and you will have the only fades that matter

It's not necessarily about time, but wear. That said, I'm one of those who believe that you should rock those jeans for at least 6 months before a wash. Try to go a year if there is no reason to wash them by then. Although much longer than that with hard wear and the denim is going to take a beating.

Interesting, I just recently just made the One year mark. Now I'm trying to push it to Two.

i read somewhere going anymore then one year wont give any better results and can be in fact can be bad for your jeans, because of all the dirt and crap that gets into jeans interfers with the fading and at the same make the jeans weaker. correct me if im wrong
