APC Cures - ebay fakes?

So i bought a pair of apc cures off ebay for a damn good price. after comparing them to my new standards, i'm a little suspicious about some of the differences i've noticed. If they are fakes, they are pretty darn impressive. they have embossed buttons, but they are different; the metal seems slightly duller, and the top button of the crotch is totally flat whereas the one used on my new standards are a bit spherical (like half a globe that's been flattened somewhat). Also, the apf.fr site states that the cures have a button fly, and these cures i bought have a zipper. the back of the zipper is embossed with the label "riri," which i figured apc would use a zipper embossed with "apc etc." These are also in black denim, which isn't even mentioned on the apc site. The denim seems raw, but feels a bit different. i'm not a denim expert so this might all just be me being paranoid.

If anybody can post pics of the top button of their cure jeans, i'd appreciate it. also, if anybody can confirm that cures only come with button crotch and not zippered, that'd be helpful.

i can post any pictures that would help somebody determine the authenticity.

you can see the listing here:

I would bet good money they're not fake. That they feel different from the New Standards is to be expected since they don't use the same kind of denim (non-selvage etc). Riri zippers are some of the most expensive zippers around and even when they're fitted on high-end Prada pieces and the like, they still have the 'Riri' logo embossed on the back. So there's no way any counterfeiter would use them, unless the zipper itself is faked.

I seem to recall having read that APC started using the larger, spherical button relatively recently. Perhaps your Cures are just older stock?

I also have no idea why someone would bother making fake APCs, or why they'd go so far as to buy Riri zippers, create hardware and labels identical to those APC uses, etc.

I don't know for sure but I'd bet they're real.

thanks for the information. My guess is that these are not fakes, and i only grew suspicious due to lack of info and an awareness of differences. apc.fr probably doesn't mention cures having zippers or being available in black because these are old jeans. speaking of which, if anybody wants a chance for a pair on the cheap, click the link above.
