I know this thread descended into ribaldry and lunacy long ago, but I feel like making three serious criticisms:

1., it doesn't look like a home to me -- there's a complete absence of comfortable or relaxing furnishings;
2., there are too many gimmicky things competing for attention -- would benefit from dramatic simplification;
3., the black & white rug is garish and ugly.

I don't understand why you don't apply the same rules to furnishing as you do to dressing.
