1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Hah. Yeah, the thread is peppered with "this member is blocked" and people quoting him. If he was less of a dick I'm sure he'd be taken seriously.

I like that room in the daytime.

The nonfunctional shutters do throw me though.

It looks like a room. Live in it a while.

That room is furnished, it is you that is empty.

Who said the shutters don't function? We just never close them.

Oh, they didn't look wide enough to cover your window in your photo.

I'm a little confused. Which space is for the living room?

The photos of the actual room were processed in Photoshop. The drawings were also done in Photashop--not advisable, though.

They unfold, so are twice as wide as they look. I would not have any shutters if it were up to me.

    :D

My GF wont allow any 'smut' (as she calls it), out in the open. Therefore I'm relegated to leaving magazines on the table I actually read, instead of books I want my guests to think and talk about.

A short time ago I also kept some comics in the bathroom, I tried 'heavier' literature in there like Kant and Popper, but they left me feeling constipated. As this is not the effect you want in there I went back to Donald Duck, a laugh seems to help with evacuating your bowels. Interestingly, since my GF moved in she removed the comics, leaving an empty bathroom, and I have not noticed any negative efects. Could it be that the purpose of the room, and the (lack of) literature presented are now more in sync, thus creating a more honest room?

Taschen makes some great books on smut, which also pass for coffee table books,

Now I'm even more confused - where's your L-shaped couch supposed to go? Into the corner that isn't "L-shaped"?

What's the distance between the kitchen island / post and the wall on the right?

For your first question, yes. I have a couple of days to decide, but if I go that route I'll be having the couch custom made so that it fits perfectly into that corner.

The distance between the island and the wall on the right is around 7 feet.

They also have an awesome book on Klimt that has fold outs of his paintings. For those who won't brave out the above choices.

Which is why I find the room visually jarring. It's as if everything is off just a little. When the elements in the room are too large for the space something's gotta give.

I had an annoying gender studies roommate in college, who insisted on leaving porn around (she was a woman). Literally stacks of fringe, gender-theory porn magazines on the coffeetable, which I couldn't speak out against for fear of being labeled a conservative.
