Our solarium is similarly furnished, in a lot of ways.

I would guess its intended use is to sit by one's self and stare at the wall. I came to this conclusion based on the single chair facing a wall.

Tales of your house continue to mystify me. I am not sure if it is a slice of heaven or a slice of Dr. Kaligari's.

    You wound me.

Surely, it makes sense to you why it is okay to use intangibles to keep a thing under consideration when there is no clear reason to toss it out, and not okay to use intangibles alone to discount such a thing completely.

Eye of the beholder. I am sure manton would say the latter. I'd say it is a very personal place.

I don't know how accurate the pictures are from a few years back of Matt's place compared to today, but it looks pretty awesome to me.

It's more white now. Most dark things have be redone or recovered in white.

You know, most people think we all dress very odd. They tell you to you to your face that you look really sharp today--but then, look around, who else is dressed like you? Get over it. We are strange people. Embrace it.

Living spaces should be personalized, no? Matt needs a space that functions as a solarium. I'll be honest: I am not 100% sure what that even is. It sounds like where you go to tan yourself or study the sun, but neither sound right in Matt's case. The point is, Matt's apartment is arranged and designed such as to serve his individual needs. You could not judge it without respect to whether those needs are met, and thus, first knowing those needs.

StephenHero posts some excellent stuff, to be sure. But the explanation that their excellence rests on being "honestly" lived-in is totally bogus. You are imagining things and filling in huge blanks to get there.

You do not dress normal. That is the beginning of a great compliment.

It's just a sitting are that was labelled solarium on the original plans. It seems wrong to call it otherwise. It is very sunny, though.

But we are still talk about homes, right? It is one thing if it looks cool in a picture or to look as as in a sculpture, but if you can't relax the way you want in it then all it is is a cool installation piece.

dixon's bird chair is both a piece and an awesome object for relaxation at the highest level.
