You have to use your imagination a bit. The point isn't to make anything look lived in, but to show what you can do with the space. It's a matter of concept. It would look more lived in if lived in.

Anyway, I am highly skeptical of judgments that hinge on intangibles. It's the main reason I'm not in MC anymore.

This cannot possibly be for living. Why arrange one chair, by itself so no conversation possible, just to stare at the wall? No light for reading and it's not even a comfy looking chair.

My Dad has his TV built in to a wall-to-wall bookcase. The TV is mounted to the wall on a telescoping/swiveling arm mount that allows you to pull the TV out and orient it to your viewing position. When not in use, a sliding panel pulls down from above, exposing the DVDs on a bookshelf above (that by definition are hidden when you are watching TV) but totally concealing the TV.

It is a reasonably tasteful solution, but really only if you have the room for it and are planning a wall of bookcases and cabinets there to begin with.

I meant it literally. They don't look like places where people live (as opposed to lived in). The chairs are in stupid places. The art is either dumb (subjective) or, in the case of the framed stuff, on the floor where it is not viewable unless you lie on the floor or crouch. And the table is in the middle, also for no reason.

What does everyone think of the estate in Downton Abbey and how it is furnished and decorated?

It seems that particular space is meant for personal worship, as suggested by the crosses on the "altar." A single chair makes sense for that.

No, I would not have a need for a space like that, and neither would many. But a central point of good architecture and design is to solve problems--we all have different problems to solve. So, you cannot judge something in terms of whether you would find it useful, or whether it would generally be useful. What's important is if it is useful to the person using it. .

    You guys suck.

I rescind all invtitations to my playhouse. I cannot take an evening of people questioning how one can live where I am living.

What religion worships a fallen Cross? Satanists who don't want to tell their parents?

I wouldn't know, as I am godless. It all seems like hocus pocus nonsense to me.

I am trying to dig up photos of Jasper Morrison's 2008 attempt. I wonder if your allegiance to the designer will be overcome for your distaste for the project, or vice versa.
