The liner appears to be aftermarket so doesn’t help, but I’m going to take an uneducated but fairly confident guess at Church’s. These look extremely similar in styling and shape to a pair of my own Church’s, and the handwriting inside looks very close.

But it’s not the Church’s crest. In fact, I couldn’t find a match amongst the current English makers. Unless such crests have evolved over time. That I don’t know.

The only thing I see indicating made in England is the Dainite sole.

And I agree, the lining on the footbed, at least the heel portion, seems to be new. It’s hard to know if the shoes are even English.

I googled the text on the insole and found an old thread on a forum that suggested they’re aftermarket and commonly used by British cobblers, so I wouldn’t judge by the crest on the insole. Also, looking at the light creasing on the uppers compared to the clean stitches and lack of wear on the soles I’m guessing they’ve been resoled, so again no help.

I’m happy to be corrected if someone has a better guess, but aside from the very similar handwriting and format of text inside the shoe they just scream out Church’s to me. I think they may even be on the same last as my own.
