I'll cop to it. Acquired it somehow (I don't remember if I bought it or received it as a gift). It came in a mylar silver wrapper in which it still resides. I looked through it two or three times and never cracked the cover again. If I really cared I'd run an Ebay search to see if it has any value as a collector's item.

What an event that book release was - a lot of bookstores couldn't/wouldn't display it on shelves, the media hype was out of control, and the scandal that she was posed with women, in S&M scenarios, and nude in public (I read that someone who should have known better - an archivist of some sort - recently came across the shot of her hitchiking naked and thought he had discovered an unknown Monroe photo, or something like that). Anyway, notwithstanding that I haven't looked at it in over 15 years, my recollection is that it was relatively tame compared to the omnipresent celebrity nip slips and pantiless crotch gyno shots that we get these days from celebrities who are younger than she was at the time. Not that I'm complaining.

I remember seeing this in bookstores and all over TV. I was just starting high school, so of course this was of interest to me. I remember seeing a photo spread of Madonna, Big Daddy Kane, and Naomi Campbell, all naked and getting it on. I also remember slamming the book closed because I didn't want anyone in the store to notice me looking at pictures of naked people. I wouldn't be so embarrassed today.

It was basically soft Appreciation: 3 ways, lesbians, SnM, etc. If people think that in 2008 celebrities are racier they need only look at this book to see how Madonna trumped them all back in 92.

l was really dissapointed when l checked the ebay prices. l paid around $50 for it when it first came out. There was loads of publicity about it all around the English speaking world and it was banned in many countries. There was huge crowds buying it.

l've only looked at it three times because l try to keep it in as good condition as possible, besides, the book is very difficult to put back in the metalic plastic cover. l've played the c.d single about 3 times also. lt seems like the value isn't going to go up very much.

Love the fact that Glenn O'Brien was the editor of that book.

One of the most boring controversial books in history. She may not be able to sing or dance (by her own admission), but by God she can flim flam people.
