Anyone know why SuitSupply more than doubled their delivery time on custom suits?

Sure, a pandemic which started over a year ago, and it was just changed.

Along with this they changed the custom-tab from "Custom Made", to "Design Your Own" along with this aforementioned change. I just had two suits made and delivered after 3 weeks.

I think this far in it’s a bit laughable to use the pandemic as an excuse for slow service.

China just put in new restrictions for incoming packages, where all packages have to be scanned for traces of COVID. So depending on how they ship fabrics into the country for manufacturing (I assume Suitsupply suits are made in China), that may be the cause.

A friend who works in the custom suit business recently got this notice for their MTM service.

Isn't it the chinese new year that basically means people take some time off during february? It happened last year.

The difference being that many European countries are on lockdown at the moment. People are supposed to stay home unless they’re essential personnel, including tailors.

Chinese New Year begins very soon. A doubling of lead time is normal for CNY and happens every year like clockwork. This affects every single factory.
