just bought a pair of vintage wrangelrs and i am trying to find out about when they are from. the cut is the same as the brand new ones i have, but the denim is much much darker, slubbier, and they have a scovill zipper. the model is 13mwzrm(as opposed to the regular 13mwz)

any help is appriciated.(besides spelling corrections)

its when you have variance in the threads used to make the denim... but its more a varience in each thread. some parts that are thicker stick out more, and gives the denim a rougher texture. its a sure sign of ringxring denim

Slubby: It the context of jeans, the irregular texture the comes from irregularities in the warp (i.e. the indigo, not filler) yarn, in a piece of denim.

Edit: Stupid typo. There have been many today.

so are the irregularities desired for purely aesthetic reasons, or are there other reasons?

Also, seeing as to how I'm already exposing my denim ignorance, why is only one side of denim blue? Is "dipped" an expression that means something totally different than what I imagining it to be?

sorry for hijacking your thread cmf
