    Hey Clee,

The main reason that nobody makes these anymore is due to factorization of a lot of production making them less sought after, they last forever so replacing a set of shears is a once in a lifetime act. They are superior because of their ability to cut large tranches of fabric in a single movement, and also their weight steadies the cut.

Not to mention, they are simply badass :)

Shears this size are now bought via second hand markets, and to find them brand new, without the potential of ever being dropped is a significant value, not to mention these are pretty cheap for what you're getting.

I am very happy to see all these new responses. I can only hope this was posted somewhere and it brought in a bunch of responses from a separate forum somewhere. Thanks, everyone. I'll reach out. I think this may take us to the boundary to actually initiate production.

This first run will not have the gold/brass handles. Perhaps later on, if the factory will produce more runs they will do one. I wouldn't mind one for myself but I am more interested in seeing them do a mold for a 16" shear.

Of course I'd ship them down under :)

As per above, I'll PM you when I have a confirmation and production date.

I assume everyone is coming from @jefferyd's blog, which is a popular site for tailors (and non-tailors)

    http://tuttofattoamano.blogspot.com/2014/11/shears.html

I also forwarded a notice to my tailor to see if he would be interested. If he is, I'll certainly let you know.

Thanks, ladykatza. I sent you a private message with details.

I am pleased to let everyone know we definitely have enough orders for a run. A message is out to the factory to get all the details sorted.

I don't have a cutoff on when I will have to stop accepting orders, but I don't expect it to be more than a week from now. At that point I'll need to collect deposits and get those to the factory so production can start.

Thanks for all the interest everyone, I'm glad that this looks to be happening.
