No, but I can't imagine anything based on Lowther drivers being anything but shouty. Those are odd, odd sounding things, be they in bass-reflex, back-loaded horn, or front-loaded horn cabinets.

They again, if you're a fan of the Lowther sound, they might be worth checking out. They look pretty cool.

Thanks,

I have a Blue Sky Media Desk system now but have issues with it. Curious what else is out there that's a step up from what you can find at Best Buy.

The Eminent Technology planar dynamic set (LFT-11) I had in college isn't made any more, and while I loved it at the time I don't know how it would hold up to modern gear. (It was better than the Monsoon stuff that came out later, using ET's panel technology, though much more expensive.) Right now, I don't know about little nearfield speakers. My current nearfield/desktop system consists of three Tannoy System 8 NFM II's

With a DIY subwoofer/cat-scratching-post based on JBL's flagship 15" woofer. If you're willing to get something considerably bigger (and better) than what you are currently using, perhaps the Tannoy Precision 8D or the Genelec 8050.

I still use a pair of the ET desktops for my computer. Very clever use of dipolar radiation pattern by putting the monitor in the nulls so you don't get reflections but you can do better.

Chris, what do you find lacking in your current setup? That may help direct suggestions better as the sky's the limit right now.

When I first used the Blue Sky's I was amazed what I was hearing in the music that I had not heard before. The only issue was a slight hum that I tuned out after awhile. The hum increased with time and now you can hear it humming three rooms away in the house. It is really loud. I talked to Blue Sky and they referred me to one of their technicians but I have not been able to talk with him yet. Beside that, they seem to have lost the excellent sound I first heard. I don't know if the speakers changed or my ear has.
