I need to order a couple of cotton and linen suits, but would prefer not to pay SR prices on those. I'm less inclided to use Ercole after his recent steep price increase. Will (of ASW) has had good things to say about Manolo Costa (www.manolocosta.com), but was curious if anyone had actual experience with him.

My concern is that, as a stylist rather than a tailor, his emphasis would be more design frills rather than proper fit. Possible that I'm being unfair, so wanted to ask around.

I have used Manolo Costa for about 8-10 custom shirts. He's been fitting me ever since his Phineas days. IMO, no one gets it like he does. Not only when it comes to style, but most importantly, fit. He has changed my whole perspective in terms of embracing fit, quality, color, fabrics, etc. I haven't had the pleasure of having any suits done by him (yet). You will not be disappointed.
