1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Not another peep from me about it. Just serious about becoming a member somewhere and people keep taking the topic into other places! I've gotta keep them focused [IMG]

Hard workout stories don't help me decide where to join...

Have you done the free workouts around town yet? Every place offers a free session.

Yeah actually I walked into the WSC in Georgetown looking for a free day and they told me about their open house month of January - so... I'm going there every day this month.

But when thats over, I'm a free agent again, looking for a good gym. Gold's just doesn't really do it for me.

    Where do you go?

Join a gym run by your city. Mine costs $4 a month and it has everything you need: a pool, free wieghts, machines, racket ball, B-ball. They even have a trainer that will show you how to use all of the machines for free. You can't beat it for $50 a year. It's not how much money you spend but rather how hard you work.

    Rockin the scales reminds me of my in-house workouts - 3 sets of crunches - GH3 song - 3 sets of pushups - GH3 Song - curls/dips - GH3 songs, repeat.

Aside from shameless pimping for a particular PA gym, why would do this to yourself? Sounds rather useless.

Are you serious?? Crunches and pushups make me hyoooge.

I don't get the "I hear this gym is great for this or that..." why not go in and try it?

Hmmmm... you sure? My trainer told me the other day that if I follow this pre-exhaust, concentric dips/curls/crunches/pushups, all standing up, WO, I'll get biiiig. Like Arnoldf&ckin'huuuugeee, if you know what I mean.[IMG]

I think calisthenics are invaluable as supplemental exercise. I remember back in college when I was at my best, I was hitting the gym often, and whenever I could, I was hitting all those random in-house pushups/situps/chinups just to get the blood flowing.

When they supplement the weightlifting, it really does help you out.

As for the Guitar Hero comment - its what I do! I seriously nail a song between long sets just to rest and entertain myself.

Back in the day it was Mortal Kombat, one of the Smackdown games and Street Fighter Anniversary - integrate a fight between reps.
