Not authentic.

That's not the location for the hangtag. It should go around the tag at the back of the neck.

Also, unless the photography is terrible, it doesn't have the sheen that the RLPL polos have; I purchased 4 recently from the Ralph Lauren in DC.

To further verify, ask him for a picture of where the extra buttons are stored and the sizing tag of the shirt.
