My current avatar is a photo of Gerhard Richter, one of my favorite artists. I was searching the web looking for a picture of one of his paintings and found the picture of him. Actually, it looks like it could be me- so I thought it would make a good avatar.

just swapped my Vietnam traffic shot for a picture I took in Hue on the weekend... this guy is raking up seaweed stuff from an offshoot of Hue's Perfume River to sell to the restaurants and to the herbalists. One of the best shots that Ive taken in a while, love the ripples on the water...

This is one of my favorite painters Fantin Latour.
He's wearing some stylish 19thc. boots here.

If you are familiar with New Order from the 80's, it is one of his paintings featured on this album cover.

I just changed mine to Arnold Bocklin's The Sacred Wood.

Other avatars I recall using in recent memory:

Pietro Longhi's Rhinoceros
Clodion's Invention of the Balloon (sculpture)
Paul Cezanne's Still Life with a Plaster Cupid

Just changed mine to propoganda art encouraging me not to partake in social evils.

Apparently the Party would prefer me not to sit shirtless on the floor with topless hookers, syringes and playing poker with other shirtless men.

Who would have thunk?
