Anyone buy the Scarlett Johansson CD yet?

I saw the video for "Falling Down" on YouTube, then heard the song on the radio today... cool sound - sleepy, moody, atmospheric...

I've read two good reviews and one that trashed it. Has anyone heard more of it?

It's horrible. The reason it's honestly horrendous is because David Sitek produces it, and his production is great as always--but her vocals are totally flat, completely undistinguished, she sounds like a 15 year old with no vocal training. You can be a 15 year old with no vocal training and make certain sounds work, but she's really trying to sing instead of doing some downtempo shoegaze thing, and because of that it's really awful. Since she was covering Tom Waits and working with Sitek a lot of people were hoping it wouldn't suck, but it does. If you want to listen to an album by an actress that doesn't suck you should pick up that thing Zooey Deschanel did.

If someone could get the instrumentals and rerecord it the album could be really good because Sitek is so good. I know two or three people who liked the album somewhat, but the vast majority of people I know dislike it, including me.

Reasonably cool video. Vocals are awful even to my tone deaf ear.

Yeah, but does the CD liner have pictures? If there's a life-size nude foldout in the CD notes, I'd consider buying it.

Consider buying it? For shame. You know I'd scan it in and post it here if there's a nudie pic when my copy gets in.

Well, I figured I would reward the artist for putting out something I would support. Of course I'd conveniently lose the CD, but that's one of those detail-type things.

That was really just incredibly mediocre. It's not terrible, but sort-of-ok-shoegaze-wall-of-sound can't really cover for pretty weak singing. [edit] Her singing here is surprisingly much better, but not particularly memorable.

This is actually off topic but who still buys cds these days? My knowledge of english is poor but I think the term axquire would be better.
