Anyone been to Las Vegas? Going for New Year's.

So a group of about 9 friends and I are headed to Las Vegas for the New Year, and it's the first time for all of us. We are fairly unsure of just what exactly we're going to do while we're there. Obviously gamble a little bit, but as far as maybe going to a club or a show, we're a bit lost. Anyone have any recommendations? Also, does anyone know how the clubs work? I see where you can buy tickets online for like Pure and LAX for $70. Do these guarantee you admission or what?

No. No one has ever been to this "vegas" place before, so good thing you started a thread.

Clubs with 9 dudes <charliemurphylaughing.gif> good luck trying to get in.

The ONLY way you will get in the door is to buy a table and tbh, its worth every penny.

New Years eve, they will cost twice as much and its way too crowded. Its amateur night, like most places on NYE, except way more expensive. To me, it sounds like it'll be more hassle than its worth. For 9 guys at a "hot club" on NYE, you're looking at $5k minimum for a table.

Those tickets usually work if they're from legit websites, but once you're inside its really crowded. Get a table if you can, as long as its not New Years Eve...just get hammered in your room and hit the strip.

If you're a bunch of guys, most of the shows will be extremely lame and tickets will cost you $100 minimum...maybe go to a stupid magic show at a third tier casino or Don Rickles or some comedy thing like that.

I've been to Vegas twice for New Years and my best advice is to not go to a club on NYE. As previously mentioned, go to some smaller bar or party in your room until 11:00 or 11:30 and then head out to the streets. They close off traffic on the strip and fireworks are lit from the roofs of about 10 casinos at midnight. It's pretty cool. Just bring some warm clothes because it's not very warm in Vegas that time of year.

It's not 9 guys. There's 4 of us guys and 6 girls. So basically avoid clubs on NYE; fine with me. I just figured the girls were going to want to go. I think we're going to eat at the Mesa Grill on NYE for dinner. Any of you eaten there?

Go to Mesa Grill for brunch. Its a lot cheaper and better. They have nice margaritas though....the dinner entries were really overpriced ($50-60) but the brunch was reasonable (around $20). A lot of clubs will have parties on the 30th.

As for shows, check out O at the Bellagio. Pretty classic and good show.
