My friends all watch this show Ghost Hunters. Tonight I have some free time so I am sitting here watching the show for the first time. So apparently these "ghost hunters" go to different spooky locations and look for ghosts....

Do you think this show is bull$hit? I can't decide what I think of this show. I tend to think it is a case of "moral hazard".

If these guys see ghosts, they have a tv show. But if they see no ghosts, they have no show. Therfore, they have the incentive to "see" ghosts.

PS... I am not sure if moral hazard is the correct finance terminology to describe this situation. Is it adverse selection?

I've met Grant and Jay and they are both really nice guys. Jay had some really hot girl with him at the time who obviously wasn't his wife from the show, they also haven't shown his wife in a while so maybe they got a divorce? Anyway, From what they said they really are out there trying to help people whose homes are haunted. They are very serious about what they do and they definitely are bothered by some things that happen. They try to do their best to help families who they cannot explain what is happening. They also have a blooper reel of weird paranormal stuff that happened while filming that is pretty entertaining and crazy at the same time. Ryan Buell from Paranormal State, although he may be incredibly full of himself (i know from experience) is very highly regarded in the whole realm of ghost hunters. He is one of a few select people sought by the Vatican to go and investicate demonic invasions and posessions and things. He often takes priests with him on his ghost hunts. So take it for what its worth and enjoy the show I suppose. I think some of the stuff is crap but some of it is also fun to believe. Watch the original Eastern State Penitentiary episode and look at the little black floating creature man.

I should be given a show where I go hunt pots of gold left by leprechauns. I could use things like radio waves to find leprechauns because everyone knows they reflect radio waves.

Or maybe I could have a show where I try to catch the Easter Bunny in the act. I could use a blacklight to show where the Easter Bunny left tracks.

Don't even get me started on gremlins.

I just looked at the Eastern State ghosr on youtube. That is scary.

Since I was a kid i have known all kinds of people that say that they have experienced ghosts and hauntings. At some point I would like to see first hand if there is any truth to this. Although, i would prefer to not be alone at the time... as i am a chicken $hit.

Once in a blue moon I'll watch a few minutes of the show and it's good for a spinetingling thrill or two. Similar feeling for me to watching vintage Julius Erving or David Thompson do some freaky sky walking dunk or finger roll on some poor shlep back when I was 15.

I've got a buddy/co-worker who's muslim and believes that God doesn't make mistakes. He considers the whole paranormal/supernatural phenomena representative of imperfection. He sums it up as BS. I'd love to be able to change his mind on this but it's not like it keeps me up at night. He is a very "black and white" minded individual and I've observed that it's probably in keeping with the embracement of an orderly lifestyle so common in Black men(I'm one) who left Christianity for the Black Muslim movement in the 60's-80's. Ghosts would throw a monkey wrench in their ethos. He considers the countless parables of supernatural Islam(dervishes, etc) to be the works of fanatics and not literal or truthful.

I believe, I 've heard too many credible stories from sane/sober older relatives who would have absolutely no gain from lying. I also know that almost anything on camera can be faked. Holla!

Which one is Ghost Hunters, the one with the TAPS team? If so, yeah I like it, and no it's not bullshit. By that I mean, the evp recordings they get are real. Not going to say if it's ghosts or not, but they don't produce or doctor the evidence they get.

I've caught the show once or twice. Good for some mindless entertainment but I think that's about it.

My wife loves this show. I'd love to bang Kris Williams.
