I've been calling since they were supposed to open and no one has answered the phone. Do you think they're too busy to answer the phone? JL just doesn't seem like the kind of store that would have a rush of customers at opening, even on the day of a sale.

They won't pick up. Yeah, while there's no "rush" my guess is that there were half a dozen or so guys there at opening and there are only a couple salesmen there. They won't pick up until things settle down.

Heading over in about an hour...I'll report back. VR has probably already been, though.

P, if they have any 2002s in 7E, if you pick them up for me, I'll pay you a finder's fee

If you wouldn't mind checking to see if they have a Tudor in 8.5E (Chestnut or Dk. Brown) or a Garnier II, same size, in patent I would very much appreciate the heads up. Also, please report back on the WAY off chance they have any of the new models for sale. Thanks, H_S.

I agree as I had to track my last pair down through the London Store.

H_S...I'll let you know what I see on your list too.

thanks man! I wonder if they could just set them aside for me- then I could have them sent to NJ and save the tax. Why won't they pick up their PHONE???

I was there at the open. By myself. It's safe to say there wasn't a run on the bank. They have the 2004 at 50% off. I didn't see the 02. The Giono chukka is 50% off 1050. A couple of prestige lines, mostly at 30%, and a handful of mianlines at 50% off.
EDIT: 50% off was the deepest discount I saw.

EDIT: Corrected 2004 discount per aportnoy's post.

They had some 70% off two years ago.

I saw nothing, although I didn't look at the loafers or the rubber-soled shoes.

in 8.5E and 9E. Someone needs to grab the pepper. 2005 are also available at 30% off $1330. There are also several colors of Welford and Fardon at 30% off.

Not the most inspiring selection and very few things in museum calf. I passed but would have been all over the 2004 if the had a half size smaller.
