Hey Guys,

I'm interested in ordering an item from Rakuten, and just wanted to know if anyone had done so recently. There are a few threads but they are mostly dated. If you've ordered, did you use a proxy? Anyone you trust/recommend?

Thanks.

I've ordered using Rakuten a couple times. When they've allowed me to order, it's been fine. The last time I put in an order was last June and it went smoothly.
They've had an on again, off again about not allowing credit cards that are not local to Japan though.

How long before you put an order in and them charging your card. I put in an order this morning but my bank says funds not taken yet and I'm trying to figure out if they are going to cancel my order.

UPDATE: They took the money and shipped about 20 hours after I made the purchase. It was Rodeo Bros.

My last rakuten order arrived two days after they shipped it and cost me no duties. I'm not sure you'll have any other option, but make sure you go with EMS

Rakuten is a mall made up of individual retailers, so the Rakuten company itself can't possibly provide information for that. They don't fulfill the orders.

That makes sense, is there any way to figure that out though without actually fully placing an order?

as long as they're using ems, you'll receive the order quickly and probably without duties. just double check that ems part. but most sellers use it anyway so it won't really be an issue
