...great guys - a heck of a lot more fun than the same old song and dance every night.

Overall, in my experience, SFers are actually pretty much the same people at their core as their internet facades suggest. Novel concept, I know!

I'm sure another meet will be set up after a "manly" enough amount of time has passed. It would definitely be nice to see more of you; we can attempt to make it a bit more SW&D casual in terms of the environment if that happens to work better for those that haven't come out thus far.

I'll be there next time for sure. This Friday didn't work for me, but as a starving writer who only works part-time at the moment, I'm generally free.

Yah I had a good time. I'd do it again.

Someotherstyle accidentally left without paying which was pretty funny. He came back 15 minutes later to settle his tab [IMG]

Hahaha it's true. I should've just left period - it would have been murder over the interwebs if I did!

Stazy - theres this furniture shop and light store behind Oliver square that I stopped by at the other day - I highly, highly recommend it. Especially the lightstore.

Didn't work for me but I promise I'll try make the next one [IMG] Question for Edmontonians here. Forrest at Paris Tailors has retired from what I gather. I'm looking to have sleeves lengthened on a SC (easy enough) and attempt to have a DB DJ "shrunk" from a 40R to a 38R (a tad harder). Any recommendations for tailors in the city that can do that? Anyone else enjoying the snow?

I'm looking to buy a suit in the next month but I'm not sure where to go here in town. Direct me to a good place! I'm willing to spend $1000 or more, but I want it to be a nice suit, and tailored afterwards to fit me. Suggestions?

PMs welcome re: where I should go to buy a suit.

BTW, thinking of reregistering with a different username. Don't really like this one -- what do you guys think?

Harry Rosen or Henry Singer. That's about it unfortunately...

I agree with the above but would broaden my horizons. I would take the time and go to the main places. Harry Rosens, Singers, Val Berg's (carries lots of Samuelsohn), and Holts is worth a look depending on what styles you like. If discounted enough Val Berg's and Singers will charge extra for tailoring.

Is there any place in Edmonton I can get an eye prescription WITHOUT having to buy glasses/contact lenses too?

Anyone have any advice on the tailor issue I posted above?

    An optometrist. Try Total Focus.

Anyone got a lead on good apartments on the North side (near the garrison) or in St Albert...under $1000 a month? I know there are good apartments in St Albert but I'm getting no joy on internet searches. I'm pretty much ready to dump Boardwalk and downtown 'living'.
