It deeply bums me out that I’ve never come across a 16.

Edit: well slap my ass and call me Sally. Apparently my local total wine now has some. Was planning a tequila restock at the weekend, but I suppose there will be some euro juice in the mix as well.
Give it a shot. To my taste it is a mellower version of the 10 but without much additional depth or nuance from the extra age. A good dram but not spectacular but YMMV

16 is a much more restrained expression of peat. I much prefer it to the 10 - so depends on what you're looking for.

Part of my haul from my trip….

Those Edradour are probably my "if you could only choose one more and it needed to be < $100" bottle. Spec's in Houston has actually done a full line of barrel picks with different finishes, and I've tried 75% of them (think they had 4 or 5 overall) but it is just so hard to beat the standard Edradour, especially at the price.

That said, that GlenAllachie is also a great pick, I am loving pretty much everything they do these days

Grabbed two of the small Edradour 10s and an age range (10, 12, 25) of the Tomantoul for my brother in law and me to do a tasting.

We did it last night.

The Edradour rated very highly. Will look for full size bottles …

Ah the slippery slope that is tasting. My brother in law opened his Ardbeg Blaack and I tried it. I had one on hold for me and decided not to for silly reasons. Not I know I have regrets 😭

Dalmore makes some pretty decent whisky
I’ve always meant to get a bottle, but always got distracted by another bottle. I know it has a good rep, and can confirm that at least my taste buds agree with the experts.

As promised. This is just lovely. Incredibly “soft” relative to all my other Laph experiences, which is neither good nor bad. All in all, delicious.

Edit: @KarlHungus to your point, it doesn’t WOW me, and I think there’s plenty better for the cost, but definitely worth having around. Plus, extra points for it taking literally years to come across it.

Yes I would generally concur. Nice to have a bottle or two around but wouldn't be my first buy at that price point by any means.
