While a rare poster, this was my last purchase.

Couple of new mid $ range additions at the local emporium, the Craigellachie's a keeper but the Aberfeldy is non peated, should have researched it, definitely a Robroy or Rusty Nail whisky

Don't know that I've even heard of these varietals......nice work.
If you'd let me know a month earlier I'd have sent you a Laphroaig 16 as I had an extra bottle I could only put into storage. Safe keeping until next trip stateside 🤷🏻‍♂️ in some ways it reminds me of Laga 16 with a slight menthol note on the back end & finish.
That’s what I’ve read about the 16’s tasting notes.

Yeah the Balvenie’s are makeups I’ve read reviews on, but never seen locally. Wifee travels for work, so reports in from duty free, or local liquor stores on stock. She always gets me one to drink and one for the basement 😀 She once found a bottle of Balvenie 30yr for under $400. Balvenie is my favorite marque, so looking forward to digging into these two.

Not a fan of the new label....the old one was so classic. Probably why they figured it was time it had to go :puzzled:
Juice still does the trick

Never heard of this bottling, I’m very jealous
I’m typically not a fan of sherry cask scotches, but Balvenie is my jam, so wanted to try it. Pleasantly surprised, fruit is dominant, fig, grape and a delicate oily feeling in the mouth. I believe it’s one of the duty free offerings.

I have just discovered a gaping hole in my life that I never knew existed :puzzled:

I second @Scuppers . Reminds me I need to replace the bottle I finished back in 2019. I discovered it in a cigar bar down in Old Town Alexandria, and fell in love with it. Can’t believe I’d forgotten about it, thanks for reminding me about it.
