Uh ok. I'd rather get a case of something comparable than spend $800-1000 on that these days. But ok.

Paid MSRP and was totally joking…couldn’t believe I found a bunch for decent price…

Yeah, but even MSRP these days is insane. Back 12 years ago it was $40. One can still find it fairly easy for around $150 but its nothing too special. Now the 18....

I think I paid $120 and I think it’s worth it. I remember paying $79 about 3 yrs ago

haven't had that since 2020 in my arsenal, keeps selling out and cheapest I've seen Yamasaki 12 is $250 at a close market, however, I am on a waitlist at a store to buy it for 189ish so I'll just wait. Hakushu has been coming easier.

Yamazaki 12 was good but of questionable value back when it could be had for $100. At $250 its not even worth considering. So many amazing whiskies can be had at that price.

I mean honestly, it’s all subjective, and it’s worth what the market will pay. But yeah at that price, for me at least, it’s one of those head shakers. I drank a ton of it back in 07/08 when I was stationed in Tokyo.

Friday night and a friend over for dinner, so before the meal we tried, Glenmorangie The Cadboll Estate (bottle received as Christmas gift) it’s a lovely dram. Honey, biscuit, hints or orange rind. Very very nice

Yamazaki 12 is my wife's second favorite whisky- we bought half a case at $85 a throw. I passed on her favorite whisky, which is the 18, at $450 and regret it. We still have a few Hakushu, Hibiki and Taketsuru 12s, and one Hibiki 17. Good whisky.
