Finally trying the Old Malt Cask Dailuaine 12 K&L Pick I mentioned a few weeks ago (and pic in the drinking thread). First fill sherry for ~$50.

Straight up raisins/prunes/dark fruit. Thick mouthfeel. Like a barrel proof Glendronach at half the price.

Love almost everything Arran puts out there these days so had to try this. Wasn’t disappointed. Much more subtle than the Islay whiskies but still carries that hearty peat smoke without being too overpowering.

We are having a socially distant evening with our good friends next Saturday night, the friends where I am named in his will to inherit his whisky collection. Just this month, at the age of 73, he sold the last stake he owned in the company he built. He just texted me to say he made some mega-purchases, purchases the likes of which he's never made before nor will again. Coming from him, who regularly pours me bottles over 1k, I cannot wait to see what I'll be sipping from my inheritance next Saturday.

****, he won't give me much in the way of hints what we'll be sipping. His only hint was nothing older than him. When I asked if they were older or younger than me (52) he said, "Maybe."
