Last first crack of the KL Sigs. I really enjoy this, and I REALLY enjoy this for the cost. Night and day from the Glenallachie last night. Burnt marshmallows and sweet leaning BBQ sauce come to mind. For the cost ($40!) this is an insanely fun pour.

Speaking of IBs, do any of y'all have thoughts on Faultline or Single Cask Nation? K&L has some very compelling bottlings by both. They're less kind on the wallet than these Sigs were, but that 16yo sherried Craigellachie sounds gorgeous.

SCN is reputable - but expensive. Probably at least a tier below Signatory/Gordon & Macphail/Cadenheads, etc (doesn't mean bad by any means! just not elite)

Faultline is K&L's in house branding. I have no experience with it.

This was a pretty hefty letdown, especially given the price (plus that LOVELY WA booze tax lol) paid.
The Sherry and Islay do not play well together, with each somewhat diluting the potency of the other.

I have gotten back into Japanese whiskey and have been pleasantly surprised by some of the older hits and newer things.

Nikka from the barrel is over 50% is nice and harsh doesnt feel too watery

Yamazaki distillers reserve also has an amzing taste to it

Hibiki harmony as expected

Hibiki distillers reserve slightly disappointed at what it is for the price

@tweedlover it is hard to overstate just how good a value buy this is. Just such a pleasant drink.

This one is (I hope) going to wind up gorgeous. Nose is sublime. Palate honestly started off meh, but it started to eventually open up quite nicely on the first pour.

Very excited for the other two B-L bottlings I picked up from K&L…though this Linkwood absolutely takes the coloring cake.

Did a little whisky tasting in office yesterday. Part of me really wanted to slip the 68.5% Sig Glenallachie in there to explode some minds, but I was nice.

Nothing fancy. Arran 10, Arran Bodega, Bruichladdich Classic Laddie, and Ardbeg 10.

Not shocked the Bodega was the favorite (might be my favorite value buy out there nowadays) in the group.

Genuinely shocked the Ardy 10 was second.

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)
