Any interest in Classic rock Vinyl/LPs

I have a ton of LPs that are sitting idly. I don't even have a record player.

They're my dad's old records, and there mostly classic rock with a few others mixed in. All from the 60-70s. I consider myself fairly well versed in music and I've never heard of some of these bands (I'm 24).

Because they were my dad's, I'm a little hesitant to let them go (I wouldn't say they have much sentimental value, so much as intrinsic value), but I'd be willing to weed through them and selective keep some, and let go of the rest.

I'm wondering if there is any interest in them. Note I haven't tested these out, but I'm pretty sure they'll all play fine. They're not collector quality though. These records were made for playing.

I will say that if you're hesitant then don't let them go, unless you need the space etc etc. Chances are that one day you'll regret it.

Go and buy a nice vinyl player and hook them up to some nice speakers. Then enjoy some of the best music/recordings ever created.

If you plan to sell, goto the head-fi forum. I am sure someone there will want whatever you have to offer.

I would hold on to them, if you have the option. Your tastes will change. Anyway, that sounds like a great education right there and a good way to bond with your father. You can pick up a portable player for under $100 that you can hook up to your current stereo system. They are serviceable for use at home, and a great asset if you decide you want to get into vinyl culture-----perfect for taking to flea markets and record stores to sample the wares. Unless your dad has some serious collector-ish records, the shipping cost far outstrips the value of the records. Many record stores purchase collections, if you must have the cash and quick.
