Any Idea about 'Maharishi'?

I was poking around on ebay and found this pretty cool pair of jeans from a company called Maharishi - had outlined stiching of the island of Honshu on the back. Unfortunately, the price on the auction quickly sky-rocketed, so I forgot about it. Haven't seen any of their stuff in bricks-and-mortar stores, though.

Anybody know about them?

Yoox always carry Maharishi. i believe they are an English label. The stuff is well designed and quite well made for streetwear.

A decent English streetwear brand really popular about 5 years back - one of David Beckham's first "endorsements!" - oh, and Brad Pitt liked them too. Well known for their embroidered parachute pants. They have a cheaper, diffusion label (MHI).

They are pretty interesting for streetwear. As well, their pants are quite expensive, so I'm not too surprised about the price going up quickly (the retail is probably $300+ for their pants). But, usually there is a lot more to the items than meets the eye; I used to have a white tshirt that, upon closer inspection, had lots of areas cut out and resewn with different kinds of white fabric. But, it was sewn in such a way that it still looked like a regular white shirt. As well, it often has interesting printing on the INSIDE as opposed to the outside.

It certainly isn't something that you could wear everyday but nevertheless it is a pretty innovative label, I think.

English label as noted above, founded by Hardy Blechman - also author of DPM, a superb, huge book on camouflage . Specialises in military-esque clothing. Had huge success with fancy embroidered combat pants.

Jeans are alright. Some selvedge. Many with camo printed undersides. Made in China.

As mentioned before, very popular in the UK. Marketed to the same group of people as BAPE et al.

Maharishi is the high-end stuff, there's also the MHI diffusion line. Recontextualised military surplus for the most part.

Popular enough for there to be quite a few fakes floating around eBay, especially denim and the embroidered sno-pants.

Hrmm Maharishi is more known for their Sno Pants, shirts and jackets. They have crazy designs, dun't think their jeans are any good

I'ts a pretty cool brand from what I've seen, as everyone said, really popular for their Sno Pants. They really up on the camo design, and have some nice hoodies. But it's pretty expensive..

Yeah my uncle got me a pair of their heavier sno pants, crazy design. Trying to score a dragon pair.

I would lump these guys with Trainerspotter, One True Saxon, and possibly Silas as makers of decent -- though somewhat garish -- sports/street wear. Somewhat overpriced for the designs, which I tend to avoid like the plague. If you really have to get anything British but which is not necessarily high street, get 6876 instead, though their Summer '06 collection was quite disappointing apart from the self cleaning Capandula Nanosphere jacket (technical fabric meets designer street wear). I would also rate their navy blue Fall '05 Capandula jacket one of the best ever designed. Perfect cut/detailing in every respect. Unfortunately Kenneth Mackenzie doesn't do jeans.

Anyone know how their shipping is? I ordered from from california, the website says the shipping is free. I doubt international shipping is free, probably some bug in the system. customer service isn't responding to my email. Kinda scared. Any1 have experience with their onlinestore?
