...tis the season, and just thought I'd ask if anyone has any favorite Xmas cds, new or old.

Right now, this is my favorite, new this year. Just amazing, and can't stop playing it (and yes, I "AM" that old!!!)

...and this is a review from the Birmingham News:

"Christmas Wish," ONJ Productions. You'll hear: The Aussie singer at her best. This mixture of spiritual and secular songs works, and that's a rare occurrence. Minute-long instrumentals take care of some of the traditional carols, and guests such as Jon Seceda, Michael McDonald and Barry Manilow join Newton-John on irresistible melodies.

Highlights: "Every Time It Snows" (with Jon Secada), "A Mother's Christmas Wish" (with Jim Brickman), "Little Star of Bethlehem," "Instrument of Peace" (with Marc Jordan).

Lowlights: None. Newton-John gives listeners one of the best Christmas albums ever.

You'll like it as much as: A cup of warm, mulled wine. Joey Kennedy --

There's a lot of good Christmas songs out there, but not a ton of christmas albums that are solid all the way through.

I may be the sole fan on this forum, but I love Anita Bakers Christmas.

Especially like Bootsy's versions of Santa Claus Is Coming To Town and Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer

I picked this up the other week... excellent!! I LOVE Dino's version of 'Baby, It's Cold Outside'.

A Charlie Brown Christmas will never be replaced as the pinnacle of holiday music.

Chris Isaak has a really good one too. Sufjan Stevens as well.

Yeah, pretty hard to beat that.

Wow, I didn't like that version at all. Not enough chemistry, too peppy. The Ray Charles/Betty Carter version is fantastic.

For me, the standard "background Christmas CD" sound is courtesy of George Skaroulis ("Season Tradition" - solo piano work)
