Any experience with XMI ties?

I came across some ties by XMI and am curious if anyone else has ever had any experience with them? They seem to be of good quality. With a retail of > $100, I wouldn't have thought about buying one but I was able to get them at < $10 each so it was a good deal even if they're not the greatest.

Very decent ties at that price. I have a wool one that compares very well with Brooks Brothers.

Pay attention to where they're made.

I have several made in the USA that are beautiful, heavy silk, tie great knots. Some of the ones made in China appear to be of substantially lower quality. I don't enough about the lines- XMI, XMI Platinum, whatever- to know the absolute rule about what's made where, but the cheaper/lower quality ones show up pretty frequently around here at the Marshalls/TJ Maxx type stores.

I happen to be wearing one of my XMI Platinums today. I got it at a Nordstrom anniversary sale three years ago, along with two others. The are some of my favorite ties. They tie a great knot a leave an even better dimple. For < $10, I'd consider that a steal.

Like the previous poster said, I'm not quite sure about the other lines. I only have experience with XMI Platinum, which were all made in the United States. That said, I really like the XMI Platinums that I have.

Thanks for the replies. They are indeed imported silk from Italy and hand made in USA. Sounds like I got myself a good deal then

I have quite a few XMI ties. The XMI platinum and XMI Couture are some of the nicest. The mainline has a wide range of quality so you will need your eyes and hand to decide.

IIRC my favorites seem to have the fabric made in England.
