I haven't been in Europe in awhile, last time i was there, the europop songs of choice were Despre Tine and Dragoste Din Te (sp) Anyone have any good europop recommendations? I like to listen to the stuff while driving sometimes.

I'm looking for something more techno based.

I've heard some great stuff, but for the life of me I haven't noted the names. If you want, I'll be in eastern europe right after orthdox x-mass, I'd be happy to pick you up some random cd's of dance mixes and send hem to you. but I can't vouch for the quality.

That would be cool, I'm sure the quality will be just fine, I'll send you a PM, thanks.

By "techno" do you mean Techno or does cover all electronica? If your looking for house i can give you a ton of titles and some trance as well.

I mean trance, but there is kinda a Europop trancy genre of music that is on the radio all the time in Europe, I don't really know how to explain it. Those songs I posted are in that genre.

Not quite techno, but French group "Air" have produced a couple of interesting electronic albums.

I have most of the new stuff (I've been listening to Oakenfold pretty much since he started) I was just looking for cheery europop stuff thats brand new in Europe that won't show up here for 2 years or so. We don't even have Dragoste Din Tei here in the US yet and it's died out in Europe.

Not exactly yuppie, but Annie is a adorable scandinavian electropop artist. Perhaps not up your alley though, as I love Annie's music, but detest Oakenfold.

Erik Prydz - Call on me? It's only popular because of the video clip [IMG]

I agree  [IMG] . But what a stupid mess he makes of a Winwood song.  [IMG] Drizz... why would you want to hear that kind of music, and trance,etc..... mind numbing, and if you see the way they dance in these huge halls, it gives the saying "White men can't dance" a whole new meaning  [IMG]
