Any belt experts here? Does anyone know why nicholas hollows' curvy buckle is asymmetrical?

You can see it in the pics on his site here[1] . The edges near the distal part of the buckle are more rounded than the proximal part. I know this is a very specific annoyance, but does this asymmetry serve a functional purpose?

Either you know a lot less English than I, and are translating, or you know a lot more, and can use "distal" and "proximal" as easily as "near" and "far."

You mean the way it's D-shaped, right? Presumably it's mostly stylistic. There's a lot more leather under the side without the tang, of course, so it kind of makes sense for the shape to allow for that.
