by the way just checked my order sheet, AM calls this Museum Grey 2 actually, I think the "original" museum grey has more molding

How’s the leather now? Is it still dry?
In my not-so-informed opinion, suboptimal creasing and dryness are due to different underlying reasons (loose grain due to large cow or poor area vs a reversible depletion of oils). I somehow don’t like the Cornelia leather used for this pair.

I would suggest not to be too concerned about the text description: after all, Antonio’s colours have typical handmade variance ?

@clee1982 as for “pearl grey” or uniform grey, I would suggest the other readers take reference also from Berluti’s iconic “Nero Gregio” - to which AM’s pearl grey is remarkably similar (maybe a shade darker):

It still shows some markings like that, but honestly I don’t care the shoes are amazing :)

why does the argentum MTO site say "Constructions = from janyuary 2021 to dicember 2021 all placed order MTo will be offered as Handwelted construction " is he switching to gyw for argentum?

I would imagine back to Argentina welt, think he did argentum handwelt, so machine sewn bottom (and minimal price increase) because yup the machine broke…, so definitely eat into some of his margin. Part of the reason he initially don’t want to GMTO at all, then get to this potential free tree thing

Actually Antonio's machine for Argentum welting broke down more than a year ago and he is still having issues with the repair. So those Argentum MTOs and new RTWs are all hand welted. He told me even my Valerius RTW is handwelted.

Our gain, his loss.

Advice for sizing on hawksbill? I did the ABC method I came up with unrealistic numbers 11.5 uk  Im usually 11 D /10 uk in Carmina rain. I did email Angela, but obviously there is a lot of experienced folks here.

Bonus question. Does anybody own Oct. Tenth, Yeossal, or Jim Jun and how do they compare?

What last are you interested in and what are you trying to compare? Size?

I have Yeossal SG65 and YC3 and AM soft square - instep on soft square is slightly lower than both Yeossal lasts I’ve tried. I took 1/2 size up in Soft Square from my Y size.

FWIW when I did measurements and tracings Antonio asked me to do them seated rather than standing.
