I have the same size than you the same normal feet and i purchased 7 UK for the soft Square, They send my shoes the next day... but even if my shoe was RTW line i waited almost 6 months for the model i wanted were Avaiable for purchase.

so if the model you want is avaiable in your size you are in luck, but if not... you are going to need to wait for a while ... but They worth it ?

why UK 7 if you’re a US 7, does AM run small?

i think he’s saying it’s exceptionally good despite being the ‘lowest’ quality AM offers

@boot_owl thanks for clarifying for me!

@Zaos1 I was indeed trying to say the leather is “too good”. If there is something I don’t like about AM shoes, it’s the fact that they make my other shoes (CJ, Berluti, StC) seem less exciting then they should be.

@NadalRG AM shoes run slightly narrow

e.g.

- CJ: benchgrade, brown boxcalf - creasing doesn't look good

- Berluti: crust leather (what they call Venezia) - not rubbish, but not impressive if you consider my Aeris Catullo also being a crust leather (who said crust leather must wrinkle badly?)

I wouldn't call AM run narrow though, at least not Chisel 2, maybe soft square and hawksbill run narrow? I take GG sizing (i.e. 0.5 down from my US size), though I'm US 9.5, so not sure if the translation still holds when going to smaller size.

edit: though wouldn't call it run large either, Chisel 2 is pretty "medium", if anything I think AM runs slightly shorter?

@clee1982 to make AM and his fans happy I should have said "true to size". It is nevertheless not a falsified statement given I wear EG 202 in 7.5E and AM Chisel 2 in 7.5E.

Nevertheless, since AM stiffeners are a bit extended (probably not as much as StC) and his leather is not paper-thin and could take a while to break-in, when I introduce my friends (who sometimes only had Clarks and Ecco before) to AM shoes I always ask them to choose 0.5-size bigger than the "correct" size first - just to make sure they don't complain at the beginning.

For sizing advice one is cordially invited to the excellent resources on AM's website -

1. Measurement guide

2. Size library*

* I think this is easier and better for most people

The size library link is like "must read" for anyone interested in trying AM shoes, but can't try them on ??

Exactly. I think if one reads it in conjunction with the one on Skoaktiebolaget, and if he is not at the extremes of shoe sizes (like UK 4.5, UK 13), conversion from many other brands (via intermediates) to AM is possible...

3. Size library - Skoaktiebolaget - for expansion of the comparison

I didn't even know skoaktiebolaget had a size chart ?. Learn something new everyday.

Have you gotten much feedback on how they like the fit after a while?

Maybe I am among the more exploratory / less loyal of Antonio's clients and kept buying from his competitors, I have previously been asked by Antonio to suggest possible sizes for new clients who wear Berluti and StC.

P.S. In terms of pushing my friends down the AM rabbit hole, I am doing an okay job - well, at least no actual returns thus far...

This has been there long time and maybe you haven’t purchased from them since a long time :) . Well mostly EB and L&T that I see on skoak now.

No I actually did purchase something like a year or so ago. I've gone on the site when they have like the Black Friday stuff. I guess I'm going in there with the focal directness of a horse with blinders on.
