I believe the last is stated when you are directed to the link of the recommended shoe tree.

As for the construction, it should be self explanatory. Both the aeris and argentum have patina offerings for the principes model, albeit colours are much more limited for argentum.

It's confusing because the new patina series are listed with all the other Argentum welt shoes, but the description says Goodyear welt construction.

Aren't the new patina shoes Goodyear welted instead of Argentum welted? That lessens the appeal for me personally.
This is a great question!
and, if one were to request a patina on an Argentum MTO would it get the GYW or AW treatment?

See reply by @clee1982 - patina service started with Aeris (GY) but is now extending to Argentum (AW).

There are plans for the whole Argentum range to migrate to hand-welted (an upgrade, for those who want to be extra sure), but so far this has not happened.

I can see just not a lot up take for AW, it cost more, and for most people I guess is either GW or HW. I thought AW was a nice in between, but guess the market is not a big taker on it

Aeris (GW) is like ~400 Euro
Argentum (AW) is like 500 ~ 550 Euro (except the split toe which like almost 200 Euro more?)
HW, no idea but but based on memory from GMTO it's like AW+150 Euro (all else the same)

those are RTW pricing
Argentum MTO is like another 150 Euro? (highly spec dependent, think it's AW by default?) on top of Argentum RTW

I mean you would think AW is great value (at least I think), but if he is moving up the chain then I guess the market is not taking it.

Well I could sympathize with those that find it difficult to justify the extra expense. Especially, when EB and Vass MTO, which are fully HW, are pretty much the same price as the AW.
Throw in your upstarts, like Oct_Tenth & Passus then your SE Asian makers, and perceived value is not as apparent as it once was.

yup, and at least people know GW and people know HW, AW require some convince as to why this "middle ground".

I would say AM's finishing and everything is way above what I saw on Vass or EB though
