@T4phage very nice! On Antonio's tumblr he calls this a lazyman oxford, but I don't see any faux laces. Is he simply not finished with this pair or was this just a wrong description on his tumblr?

Although I'm not T4, I think it is just what he calls the styles. He called mine the same.

I spoke to him about faux laces and he said it is doable so it is just a choice on the part of the person who commissions the shoe.

Test shoes arrived last night (only 5 days by DHL, not bad) and I tried them around the office today. I am very impressed with just how comfortable the design is, despite being a side elastic. The shoe itself walks like an oxford but is as comfortable as a loafer.

Now I just need to tweak the design before the final. I'll post some pictures for feedback tomorrow. I am considering if I want to change the size of the toe box for aesthetic reasons on the toe box as well as the slope of the chisel.

Didn't know you could personalize it that much. That's amazing.

    @T4Phage - those are beautiful.

How involved were you in selecting the pieces of alligator Antonio used to make your shoes?

The aurum pair I'm getting is going to be in elephant - Antonio sent me some pictures of the piece of elephant leather he got and asked me which pieces I was interested in. It's really cool to be involved at that level, hard, though, to imagine what would look good. I think it'll be easier once I see the test shoes in person.

I got a couple of black and brown shoes already, looking for something new. I would say navy is my favorite then charcoal is my second favorite for suit

Yup, just a small upcharge for a last modification. I can't imagine I'll ever change the feel of the last after my last two pairs though, literally feels bespoke in that it holds my heel without compressing my toes at all.

I am a fan of that pattern. That is hard color wise. Antonio does an excellent brown, especially with the patina. Perhaps you should consider a textured leather like hatch grain.

I also really like my navy test shoes since the blue comes out in sunlight but under office lights looks black. You could do an interesting effect with steel grey and black highlights. Roja would be amazing. Maybe you could do a tan summer pair for the test shoe then a roja for the final.
Examples of a variety of colors and textures:

(G&G, but good example of hatch grain)

Hatch grain [IMG] Never thought of it before.
Hate the way mto force you to decide! Too many choices (I am not a very good decider)

Btw my gf said she like yours more than G&G vintage rioja found a picture of G&G's riojia

Anyone ever asked him for a matching belt? (because sometimes his colors aren't the typical belt colors)

he can do it. he made me a suede belt about two years ago. although i don't think he has a large selection of buckles readily available, so you may want to source your own

    I'll take the compliment :D.

He can be very flexible with the color and his judgement is very very good in making it come to life.
