Advice for sizing? I did the ABC method I came up with unrealistic numbers 11.5 uk  Im usually 11 D /10 uk in Carmina rain. I did email Angela, but obviously there is a lot of experienced folks here.

Bonus question. Does anybody own Oct. Tenth, Yeossal, or Jim Jun and how do they compare?
I am a US 11.5 D. I wear an AM round last 11 E.

I have Yeossal SG65 and YC3 and AM soft square - instep on soft square is slightly lower than both Yeossal lasts I’ve tried. I took 1/2 size up in Soft Square from my Y size.

FWIW when I did measurements and tracings Antonio asked me to do them seated rather than standing.
hmm I did mine standing up. Will re-do sitting down.

What did you like about Yeossal when compared to AM and viceversa?

hawksbill
Rain - UK9
Hawksbill - UK9.5 - very nice fit, similar to Rain, maybe a touch tighter in heel
Oct 10 Pu - UK8.5 (lot of volume, which is why I sized down, slight pinch on pinky toes though. Probably better in 9 with reduced instep)

They’re really different. I’d give AM the edge on leather and finishing. Yeossal gets the win on speed and price I guess.

AM - Feels really substantial. Not heavy or chunky but overbuilt and just solid. I wouldn’t call Yeossal a super light shoe but in comparison it feels it. AMs closing and finishing is excellent. Leather is outstanding. I honestly don’t have anything bad to say about AM save the crazy waiting period. At this point in my shoe journey I can deal with the wait but man I still like instant gratification. AM also has an option for some minor modifications to the last but it’s basically lasted with laces open. I’ve thought hard about getting my own last.

Yeossal. Tons of patterns, quick turn from start to finish. If you want the Japanese/Modern English inspired they fill that role. Low cost, 50/50 payment structure. Finishing and closing on my pairs was good but not perfect.

I think AM is probably the technically better shoe (particularly with the HW being standard on MTO currently) with better leather. Yeossal may get there and I’m interested in trying their off menu options. I also wish they had more interesting leather options but I get it. Edit: pushed post accidentally. I have pending orders with Yeossal and one sitting in my cart with AM while I decide if I’m doing a modified last or cough up and do Aurum MTM

AM 9.5 on soft square

Yeossal SG65 in 9
Thanks for the detailed comparison, just what I was looking for. I Can definitely understand the instant gratification part lol.

Sizing wise, Antonio told me half size up on all his lasts except the Capri unlined collection. He suggested my preferred 8.5uk size.
For reference, on the Carmina & Oct Tenth shoes I take a 8.5uk.

I'd echo @Jmr928 sentiments concerning the differences between the AMs & Oct. Tenth. Unfortunately, I'm basing that on my experience handling other people's RTW AMs as I don't own his RTWs.

That being said, if you can purchase the Yeossals or Oct. Tenth at a cheaper price that would be a good pick up, and you wouldn't feel the least bit remorseful for.

you mean he suggest you to take 9 UK on everything but for the Capri unlined collection take 8.5 UK?

Great reference What lasts on Carmina?
Also buyers remorse is always there lol Needs vs wants ...

Rain - UK9

Thanks, so general consensus seems to be 0.5 above for hawksbill

I take a 8.5uk across all lasts except the Simpson. Half size up on that one.

That avoidance of remorse is what had lead me to spend more on shoes that I would like. I should learn to settle better, but after I receive what I actually wanted I have never encountered regrets 😊.

With that in mind, if the AM's are what you really want save up or wait up and pick those up.

Seems like everyone indeed takes 0.5 above their usual size on the Hawksbill.

If that's the case, Antonio gave me bad advice. Anyone looking to buy a pair of brand new black suede Capri split toe derby (9uk)? 😔
You sure they won’t work? Isn’t bcoll more of a fake 8.5 who is actually a 9 but finds a way to fit his feet into 8.5s to see if they work?

He is but if Antonio knows that bcol is 9uk across lasts like me, then it's very likely that the unlined suede shoes have enough room to accommodate a 0.5 size down on a tts last. I guess I should try them on first just to be sure but I'm not feeling very optimistic right now.

Make sure to try it out before jumping to conclusions. If AM gave you that advice, you should definitely see how that goes. While most people size up half, you might be one of the exceptions.
