I thought for Chisel 2, that is always the recommendation, TTS
I went based on recommendations from people here. I have tried many many shoes so TTS is what I will say in my review.

still a lovely shoe. It arches so well towards the toe. Waist is top Notch for the price.

I think it depends on the wearer's toes. I went TTS and find out pinches my pinky toe a bit but I think half size up like the soft square would have been a bit loose.

not for me (and I think bunch people here) I would definitely say for chisel 2 go for your EG/GG size, and if too narrow in toebox is not an issue for you then take same size between soft square and chisel 2. Else take wider fit in soft square or up half size (I did the wider fit route, never tried up size on soft square vs. chisel 2, or never tried same size between chisel 2 and soft square either though).

FWIW, I think Angela told me that soft square is ¼ shorter than chisel 2. I have a 9.5 in SS, 9 in C2. EG I'm between 9 and 9.5 erring towards 9. GG MH71 is a bit roomy towards the heel.

How does the 9.5 in SS fit for you?

As soon as I can find a "free way" to try upsize in soft square I would..., though as soon as I find out that I might end up buying more shoes... (wider fit in soft square also means slightly wider heel, that's the one part I don't like)

Very well. I have the Valerius loafer in 9.5. Instep works well and there is sufficient room in the forefoot. The throat is cut pretty high though so it's a bit of a struggle getting my foot in sometimes but once it's in its a great fit.

Heel fits very well.

I have the optio boot in the chisel 2. I could do with a little more length and if I walk more than a km or so it does feel my toes are squishing up against the stiffener in the front. But I think sizing up would mean that my foot would slide more since it would be wider.

My Hastatus arrived.

I will be keeping them as it was a bargain but it does have a little sour taste.

they were tried on, extremely dry and the box was wrecked. 3-4 weeks to get here too.

the chisel 2 fits fine half a size up. But if I wanted it snug I would take my regular.
by the way I would definitely condition them (just cream), just checked my IG conversation with them 3 years ago, those fineshoehk looks like the batch they ordered 3 years ago and other than MTO never stock new again.

Sounds right. Glad I didn’t have to stock my scafora for 3 years 😅

what is usually in the box? I got the red shoe bags and the shoe trees and that’s it.

Never ordered stock from retailer (Yeossal were GMTO too), in general from memory you get

1. Regular box (if you order from AM direct you can “upgrade” to wooden box by paying more).

2. 2 red shoe bag

3. Tree is additional if you order from AM direct

AM can usually throw in a free leather insole as well if you ask for it (in case you need to micro tweak the fit)

Is the wooden box worth it? I'm tempted to get one for the back of my closet 😂
