so looks like all the normal argentum line mto stuff are semi stuck due to shut down, AM told me there are ~300 pairs needs to be finished (which they're unable to at the moment), so I guess better expect next year then

Goodness me! That's a lot of shoes. Not sure how many people they have in the factory/workshop but I'd guess April (barring Covid set backs).

Well, thank you! I don’t know about abandoning STC, but these are lit. It’s a shame that his MTOs take like a year to make.

I'd agree with not abandoning the ship.

With AM, the wait time feels interminable. Along with, sporadic customer service which could be improved.

The quick turnaround time always makes StCs attractive. Additionally, (whenever Covid finally abandons the ship) StCs are a bit more accessible due to numerous worldwide Trunk shows and that virtual fitting they do. They also seem to have more retailers available than AM does.
Customer service also seems to be slightly better. Though to be fair, we would be splitting hairs here, but I'd still give the edge to StC.

Like EG (selected them due to the similar price range), StC visually differentiates itself to what AM offers. Which is enough justification to own all three brands ??. And if you do own all three brands or wish to, wear your EG's or StCs until your AM's finally arrive ?.

Friday ordered my first mecariello! tomorrow I'll give him a go on the sizing! he suggested to go and try crocket and Jones 325 and some other lasts and size up half.. so that would make me 11.5 , even tough by his chart I'm 10.5 length and off the charts wide... a bit strange but let's hope I'm not off more than by +0.5 size... let's hope I get them by autumn...

I can't say the same for StC customer service haha. Also, I could be wrong but I vaguely remember a conversation from the bespoke thread (or one of them) about a pegged waist being a quicker and cheaper alternative to a hw waist.

Some photos of the Elios ankle boot GMTO placed back in March. Apologies for the poor non-natural lighting. Last couple photos were from Antonio. Leather is a pearl gray. Boots do have a seam at the heel.

I thought about getting a seamless wholecut a few months back and decided against it simply because no one would notice. If no one noticed, and they wouldn't, I would have to talk about it. Then nobody would like me.*
